Case study · B2B Commerce

Self-serve wholesale ordering for a Canadian beverage distributor.

We replaced phone, email, and fax ordering with a compliant Salesforce B2B Commerce storefront — so trade buyers reorder in minutes and the sales team is off manual data entry.

How we approached it

01 Challenge

Orders were trapped in phone, email, and fax.

Trade buyers placed orders by phone, email, and fax. Every order was re-keyed by a sales rep, pricing and stock availability were opaque to buyers, and the business had to enforce the rules that come with selling a regulated product — licensing, provincial restrictions, and quantity controls — on every single transaction.

02 What we built

A compliant storefront that does the transcribing.

We built a self-serve wholesale storefront with the regulatory rules baked into the buy flow, wired straight through to the back office.

  • Compliant B2B Commerce storefront — account-specific catalogs, contract pricing, and negotiated terms.
  • Reorder-from-history & saved lists — so recurring wholesale orders take minutes, not calls.
  • Regulatory guardrails in the buy flow — licensing and jurisdiction rules enforced on restricted products.
  • Integration to order-management & ERP — online orders flow through with no re-keying.
03 Outcome

Buyers self-serve; the team stops transcribing.

Buyers now self-serve their reorders around the clock instead of waiting on a rep. Order-entry errors dropped as manual re-keying disappeared, and the sales team was freed to focus on relationships and new accounts rather than transcribing orders.

Pricing and availability are consistent and transparent for every buyer — the same numbers, every time.

Solution highlights

Everything a regulated wholesale buyer needs, in one flow.

Account-specific catalogs & pricing

Every buyer signs in to their own catalog, contract prices, and negotiated terms — no more price lists over email.

Reorder from history & saved lists

Recurring wholesale orders rebuilt in a couple of taps from past orders and saved lists.

Regulatory guardrails, in the flow

Licensing, provincial restrictions, and quantity limits enforced at add-to-cart and checkout — not after the fact.

Straight-through to ERP

Orders post to order-management and the back office automatically. No rep re-keys anything.

In their words

The rep used to spend the morning typing in orders off voicemail and fax. Now the order is just there — priced, reconciled, and compliant before anyone sits down.
